The best decision I ever made regarding the paintings I own!
Discovered this formidable web site when looking to restore some family heirlooms. Took the 150 mile trip. Found a modern, professional small studio and an owner passionate about his work. Was introduced into the art of restoration on the hand of two oils I brought, with some tests performed in front of my eyes. Learned of that other art, the art of conserving your heirlooms by modern means and materials. In spite of a work backlog of several months, some smaller jobs like mine may be accommodated earlier. The pricing is most reasonably based on an initial evaluation report. Now, I plan to ship some paintings to the studio in Vermont, some for restoration, some for conservation. The studio provides some excellent shipping material. It gives a good feeling that the joy of seeing one's art brought back to light and to life (in this case grandfather's art), is shared by the studio.

Gabriel Gatti has worked on four of our family heirloom paintings over a period of time.  The number will soon be five.  All of these paintings have deteriorated over the passage of time, were dirty, and looked terrible.  Some had tears and most had been abused in one way or another over the years.  After his work, they now look beautiful and we are very pleased to have them hanging in our home.

We picked up our portrait from Fiona on Saturday, unwrapped it, and hung it in our living room yesterday.  I cried, it was so beautiful!  I can't thank you enough for your fine work.  When I was a little girl, that picture looked as though a spotlight was on it, and with time, that disappeared.  Even when I brought it home from Boston the last time we had it "restored," the "spotlight" was gone.  It "focuses" on the center of the picture, around the girl.  It is now there again, just the way I remember it.  I simply couldn't take my eyes off of it and neither could Jack.  It is the only Christmas present I care about and I am truly grateful to both you and Fiona.  On top of it, both of you are lovely people! :-)  How lucky we are to have met you.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
